It’ll be Delivered in 2020
Nissan presented the GT-R50 concept to mark the 50th anniversary of Nissan’s GT-R and Italdesign. The car was well-received and Nissan decided to put it into production. We now have the first images of the car. Only 50 units will be made with a price tag of $1.1 million each. You could buy five of the GT-R Nismo for that.
The GT-R50 is a reworked version of the current GT-R50. The car is lower and larger than the Nismo version of the GT-R. The car comes with a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine that has been tuned to a whopping 710 hp and 575 lb-ft of torque. That’s a big jump over the 592 hp and 481 lb-ft of torque in the Nismo.
The vehicle comes with numerous upgrades, including better turbochargers, a larger intercooler, adjustable dampers, heavy-duty crankshaft, different pistons, bearings, connecting rods, and improved intake and exhaust systems, according to The Supercar Blog. All of this stuff helps the car be the beast it is.
“Our customers have relished the personalized experience provided by Italdesign, who have a long tradition in the exclusive field of ultra-rare, bespoke high-performance vehicles,” said Bob Laishley, global sports car program director at Nissan.
The vehicle will be delivered to customers in late 2020. Nissan will have a prototype at the 2019 Nismo Festival in Japan on December 8.
