2.9 Seconds to 0-60 MPH
The Tesla Cybertruck is a freak. It looks like a mix between the Delorean and a supercar concept from the 80s. We don’t talk much about trucks and SUVs on this website, but when they can do a 0 to 60 mph time in 2.9 seconds, we kind of have to. According to Tesla, this truck can do just that.
The truck was revealed in California and most people thought it was a joke. It’s weird, but its specs mean it will compete or beat the current full-size trucks out there. The Cybertruck will run up to 60 mph quickly and will do a quarter-mile run in 10.8 seconds. It’s the same size as other full-size trucks. It is said to come in different configurations in terms of range. The most impressive one will do more than 500 miles per charge and has a 130 mph top speed.
The base version will have a 250+ mile range and do 0-60 in 6.5 seconds. There’s also a mid-level that will do 300+ miles and a 0-60 in 4.5 seconds. The pricing for these starts at $39,900 for the base model, $49,900 for the mid-level model, and $69,900 for the top-level model.
The company’s founder Elon Musk claimed the car will handle like a Porsche and offer good off-road capabilities. The truck does come with a 35-degree approach angle and a 28-degree departure angle. It has 16-inches of ground clearance. Tesla also showed a video of the truck out-pulling an F-150 in a tug of war. The towing rating will be between 7,500 and 14,000 pounds depending on the trim level.
Musk and his colleagues also beat on the truck during the reveal showcasing its toughness. The body held up nicely to sledgehammers and large metal balls, but the supposedly shatterproof windows did break. Must quipped, “We’ll fix it in post,” according to Carscoops.
The Cybertruck is a crazy machine, and we hope Tesla can hit its performance numbers state and the pricing stated. You can watch the full reveal below.
