Get Your Racer Now
The Brabham BT62 supercar is a radical machine already, but now there’s a Competition specification that you can buy. It’s the same as the car that’s racing at the Britcar ‘Into The Night’ Race series running in the United Kingdom, according to Motor Authority.
As you might expect, this version of the car is pretty stripped down. It’s a competition, racing-spec version, so taking out as much weight as possible is important. There is no passenger seat, interior trim, or maintenance kit. The standard car gets all of those things, and this lowers the weight considerably. How much, though, has not been disclosed by the company.
The Competition-spec version of the car isn’t just a lighter weight car, it’s also a cheaper one. The car costs 750,000 British pounds or about $996,700.
To be clear, this is the same BT62 that has a naturally aspirated 5.4-liter V-8 delivering 700 hp to the rear wheels. The car gets a six-speed sequential-shift transmission and an aerodynamic body that makes 2,645 pounds of downforce at speed.
The company plans to make only 70 of the BT62, and customers can choose any of the three trim levels, including Competition, Ultimate Track Car, and Road Compliant. All of them will be wicked fast machines.
