These are the 720S MSO Cars We Want
McLaren is working on the successor to the 720S, but the company isn’t done with the car just yet. The 720S MSO Apex collection has been announced for the fall. It’s a grouping of cars designed to celebrate the high cornering speeds that McLaren cars have achieved at some of the most iconic corners at European racetracks.
The corners? Well, there’s Eau Rouge at Belgium’s Spa-Francorchamps (103 mph), the Mobil 1 Kurve at Germany’s Hockenheim (85 mph), the Abbey at Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit in Great Britan (110 mph), the Signes at Circuit Paul Ricard in France (104 mph), and the Ascari Chicane at Monza in Italy (90 mph).
The cars celebrating these corners build upon the 720S Track Pack, according to Autoblog. The cars are 50 pounds lighter than other 720S models. This is done through some reworking of the models and adding considerable carbon fiber trim pieces.
In addition to the changes mentioned above, the cars get a sports exhaust, telemetry system, extended side sills form MSO, extended paddle shifters, an MSO steering wheel, MSO throttle pedal, and a key shell. McLaren will build three of each of the corners, which means 15 cars in total. Those cars will go for $355,641.
