Novitec Rosso Tunes Ferrari 488 Spider
Those Ferrari-tinkering maniacs at Novitec recently released the Novitec 488 and now they’ve announced that they are tuning the 488 Spider.
Like the coupe, the 488 Spider starts with new visual touches. There’s a new front spoiler lip that sits on the stock bumper and gives the car a wider, lower stance. Dark side skirts and substantially revised rear diffuser add to the menacing look of the Novitec version. These changes aren’t just cosmetic either, with Novitec saying that the carbon fiber aero body kit has been extensively wind tunnel-tested and optimized for performance.
Other highlights of Novitec Rosso Ferrari 488 Spider upgrade package, as with the hard-top model, include a power kit that adds 86 horsepower to the output of the turbo engine and gives the car a top speed of 342 km/h. This includes a Novitec N-Tronic electronic control unit, which fiddles with the injection and ignition timing, and there’s also a high-performance exhaust made from Inconel or stainless steel. This means the power increases to 772 hp and 658 lb/ft of torque. Zero to 62 mph is over in 2.8 seconds and maximum speed is increased to 212 mph.
