2011 Melkus RS2000 GTS
Dresden-based BMW and Lotus dealer Melkus started producing the RS2000 in honor of the race driver Heinz Melkus. Based on the Lotus Elise platform and its Toyota-sourced engine, the RS2000 was restyled to include gull-wing doors.
At the 2011 Top Marques Monaco Show, Melkus announced a new 350 bhp version of their car in GTS specification and 300 bhp for a GT model. Adjustable dampers and AP performance brakes were also added to the package. Sepp Melkus expects to reach 186 mph with the new power and 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds. A new aerodynamic package is also available which includes a deep front spoiler, rear wing and diffuser.
