2002 Brabus E 500
The eight-cylinder E 500 model is launched to new performance levels with the BRABUS 6.1 engine. By installing a custom crankshaft and larger pistons displacement is increased to 6.1 liters. The three-valve cylinder heads are treated for optimized flow, and fitted with custom camshafts. Also included in the conversion is a stainless-steel high-performance exhaust system with metal catalysts.
To give the elegant lines of the new Mercedes E-Class a sportier emphasis the BRABUS designers created a stunning aerodynamic enhancement kit. The new front bumper with integrated spoiler features a choice of two or four auxiliary headlights and reduces lift at front axle thus further improving directional stability at high speeds.
The BRABUS side sills make the sedan look longer and sleeker. They also offer another interesting feature: A push of the button on the remote control key or a pull on the inside door handle activates entry lights located in the underside of the sills. They illuminate the ground next to the E-Class, making entering and exiting the vehicle even safer.
A number of custom BRABUS suspension kits were developed in cooperation with SACHS Race Engineering ranging from a lowering kit to sporty yet comfortable suspensions and a special control unit for the pneumatic suspension of the W 211platform.
Unadulterated luxury and individuality in the interior is yet another BRABUS specialty. The list of options includes stainless-steel door sills, ergonomically shaped safety steering wheels with airbag, and exclusive BRABUS fully leather interiors crafted from a combination of soft yet durable BRABUS Mastik leather and Alcantara.
To round out the program for the new model series, BRABUS also offers the BRABUS multimedia package with DVD player, game console and LCD monitors, integrated into the front headrests. Upon customer request BRABUS converts the new E-Class into a fully functional office on wheels with power-operated tables, fax, phone and computer system.
