1953 Cadillac Series Sixty Special Fleetwood Sedan
The 1953 Sixty Special was the last year for the Fourth generation sedan and it was distinguished by it’s large front grill with integrated ‘dagmar bumperettes.’ Furthermore a broad chrome strip running around the bottom of the body distinguished this model year. Like all 4th Sixty Specials, the model was easily identified by its Fleetwood badges and eight louvers on the rear fender.
Under the skin, the body got a new 12 volt electrical system and a slight increase in power to 210 bhp. For $619.55 a Frigidaire air conditioning unit could be installed in the trunk. Other options included the Autronic Eye which automaticallt dimmed the front high beams and chrome wire wheels.
Called internally as model number 53-60 and bodystyle 6019Xalmost 20,000 of these Sedans were made with a factory price of $4,305.
