1969 Chevrolet Camaro Yenko/SC
As a young man back in the 1950s and 1960s, Don Yenko learned the Chevrolet car and truck industry from his father, a very successful man in the industry. Both Yenkos liked Chevrolet performance, and road racing was Don’s forte.
Knowing how to manipulate the almost unknown factory “Central Office Production Order” (COPO) program, he first ordered some special ’65 Corvairs, named them Yenko Stingers, and went road racing with customers and friends alike.
His name is also legendary in Camaro, Chevelle, and Nova camps by creating some of the baddest rides on the streets in the late 60’s.
The 1969 Yenko Camaro was a limited production vehicle, equipped from the factory with COPO 9561, a special performance package including a L72 427/425hp engine, special ducted hood, dual exhaust system, increased cooling capacity and special suspension. Yenko Camaros also received COPO 9737 Sports Car Conversion, which included a 140 mph speedometer, larger diameter 13/16″ front stabilizer bar and 15 x 7 Rally wheels with E70 raised white lettered tires.

1969 Chevrolet Yenko Camaro 124379N615020 – sold for $235,000 Only 12,670 original miles. Three owners with history back to the early 1970s. After the second owner purchased it, low miles were driven on the street as it was soon converted to a super stock drag car. The car retired from street use and was only trailered to the track where it would run a quarter mile with an elapsed time of 11.30 seconds at 125 MPH. Retired from the track in 1974 and stored in the second owner’s garage for 34 years. Current owner has owned since 2008. Original interior, vinyl top, glass, body panels, emblems and badging. Original Atlas wheels. Hugger Orange paint, Black vinyl top and Black interior. In the COPO registry #76 and in the Yenko registry.
