British Columbia Historic Motor Races (2012) – Information

The Vintage Racing Club of British Columbia has announced that the 25th renewal of its British Columbia Historic Motor Races will take place on August 4–5 at Mission Raceway Park in Mission, BC, about an hour east of Vancouver. Since its inaugural running at the old Westwood circuit in Coquitlam, the event has grown into the largest vintage racecar event in Western Canada.

“The BCHMR weekend is a unique experience,” said event chairman Tom Johnston. “Nowhere else in British Columbia can road racing fans get as up close and personal with these wonderful machines and their drivers, and be able to see some of the world’s finest race-bred marques racing for the checkered flag. The paddock is open all weekend for public access, and the on-track racing is fast and competitive, stirring nostalgic memories from a bygone era of motor racing.”

In addition to the action on the track, the event will also feature a special display of classic cars that has become an attraction in itself, as well as a vendors’ area where attendees can shop for a broad range of automobile-related memorabilia.
