New Grilles and Shapes
Ahead of BMW’s official launch of the new 2021 BMW M3 and M4, the car’s leaked. The Instagram page carswithoutlimits shared the images. Then BMW Blog picked them up and they spread like wildfire across the Web.
The images show the M3 in a shade of green. The two-door M4 coupe is painted yellow. Both get the polarizing new BMW grille style that’s larger than any BMW grille before it.
The cars also have aggressive new hoods with vents (it looks like something off a Dodge Charger), angular headlights and shapely rear ends with aggressively styled rear fascia. The cars are bound to stir up some controversy with BMW fanatics. They’re a clear departure from what the M3 and M4 have looked like in the past.
The cars will feature twin-turbo 3.0-liter straight six-cylinder engines. The engines in these cars will be the same as the X3 M and the X4 M. It’s a great option and makes 473 hp and 442 lb-ft of torque. BMW will likely boost power a bit for these cars. Carscoops suggest the power will be over 500 hp and over 440 lb-ft of torque in the Competition spec variants of the cars.
There will be an eight-speed automatic transmission, but BMW will also offer a six-speed manual in certain variants of the car. More information will come once BMW officially reveals the car.
