A New Big Cat
Jaguar’s F-Type is a car that’s one of the most beautiful and fast production machines out there for the money. It now seems that the 2020 model will be getting a bit of a makeover to keeps the car looking fresh into the next decade.
Some images recently came out that showed a new exterior look for the car. The front end is noticeably different. It features a larger rectangular grille, LED headlights, L-shaped DRLs, and some new air ducts. The front wasn’t the only thing that changed. The rear end was reworked, too, for a sportier look. The taillights were further refined and feature a more angular shape and a new rear diffuser that gives way to quad exhausts.
According to The Supercar Blog, the engine lineup will also be changed. There are two new engines, a new turbo six-cylinder hybrid, and an entry-level four-cylinder engine. At the top of the range can still be had with the V8. It’s cool to see Jaguar adding a hybrid powertrain here, but we’re still glad you can get a burly V8.
In terms of styling, the new styling elements look very Maserati to us. While that’s not necessarily a bad thing, the look is far less distinctively Jaguar and a bit more derivative. It’s unfortunate because the current generation still looks very good.
