Ford GT500 vs GT

2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 Drag Races a Ford GT

These are the Fastest Fords

The 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is one of the most extreme cars to come out recently, but the Ford GT is a Le Mans winner and it’s a seriously fast car. So which is the fastest? That’s what the YouTube channel DragTimes decided to find out. It got its hands on a new 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 and a Ford GT and took then to the dragstrip.

The GT500 has a supercharged 5.2-liter V8 that makes 760 hp and 625 lb-ft of torque. The GT has a twin-turbo 3.5-liter V6 that makes 647 hp and 550 lb-ft of torque. As The Supercar Blog points out, the GT500 has more horsepower than the GT, but the GT is lighter weight and has its engine mid-mounted.

What really set the two cars apart, though, was the seamless and smooth acceleration that the GT has. It won the drag race because of its constant increasing speed. The GT500, on the other hand, seemed to bog down after the initial strong launch. The GT500 is still a super powerful and fast machine, but if we had to choose a Ford supercar, it’d be the GT.
