2017 Pagani Huayra BC Up for Auction at RM Sotheby’s

Expected to fetch more than $4.5 million

The Pagani Huayra is a breathtaking masterpiece of design and engineering, following in the footsteps of Horacio Pagani’s groundbreaking Zonda and elevating his artistry to unparalleled heights. Named after the Andean wind god Huayra-Tata, its aerodynamic design reflects the influence of air, featuring active flaps and suspension for optimized performance.

In 2016, Pagani unveiled the Huayra BC, a track-focused tribute to Benny Caiola, Pagani’s first customer. Inspired by the Zonda R and Zonda Cinque, the Huayra BC features a 753-HP engine paired with a single-clutch seven-speed sequential gearbox.

Weight-saving innovations, including a “Carbo-Triax” material, titanium exhaust, and minimalist interior, reduced the BC’s weight by 130 kilograms. Enhanced aerodynamics include a fixed rear wing and an aggressive splitter.

Only 20 examples of the Huayra BC were produced, including chassis 76130, a 2017 model slated for auction at RM Sotheby’s Dubai on December 1. The car features exposed, lacquered carbon fiber with vivid orange accents, including on the brake calipers. In August 2019, Pagani performed maintenance on the vehicle, recording just 1,550 kilometers on the odometer at the time.

During the 2021 Monterey Car Week, Pagani introduced the ‘Pacchetto Tempesta’ package for the BC, elevating its on-track capabilities. This upgrade included a redesigned front splitter with a dedicated air intake, a reprofiled rear wing with a central fin, a six-pipe exhaust system, enhanced suspension, and an optimized powertrain boosting output to 827 HP.

Chassis 76130 returned to the factory for this upgrade and retains the Tempesta specification today. Its more aggressive exterior is complemented by an interior adorned with orange-accented leather seat pads, stitching, and steering wheel highlights, alongside black Alcantara, carbon fiber trim, and precision-crafted aluminum details.
