2012 Concorso Italiano

2012 Concorso Italiano

Held on August 17th 2012 at Laguna Seca Golf Ranch, Monterey California, USA, this year’s Concorso Italiano featured over 800 Italian cars with a special tribute to Bertone.

This Italian car owner event is held during the Pebble Beach weekend and has really evolved over the years from a small gathering into a large show with almost 1,000 drool-worthy Italian cars. It is one of our favorite events during Monterey Car Week.

This year’s event highlighted original-condition and barn-find cars and was sponsored by Fiat North America. In celebration of the 55th anniversary of the Fiat 500 there was a large contingent of classic and modern Cinquecentos. Fiat showcased the new 500T, with its 135-horsepower Turbo engine, upgraded suspension and brakes. Our favorite Fiat’s at the show were the 1959 Fiat 500 Bianchina and the 1960 Fiat 500D.

With Bertone celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2012 the Concorso Italiano paid tribute with a lot of the cars the famous design firm penned. The 2012 Bertone Nuccio concept car made an appearance as did the 1953 Dodge Z-250, 1953 Fiat Stangeullini Berlinetta, 1970 Lamborghini Miura S, 1959 Alfa Romeo Sprint Speciale, 1968 Lamborghini Espada and many more.

Best of Show at the 2012 Concorso Italiano was awarded to the 1955 Ferrari 250 GT owned by Ken and Dayle Roath.
