2011 Concorso Italiano

2011 Concorso Italiano

Held Friday August 19th 2011 at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch in Monterey California.

A fun Italian car owner event during the Pebble Beach weekend has evolved over the years from a small gathering amongst owners into full blown concours with almost 1,000 Italian car icons. It is one of our favorite events during the week-long automotive nirvana known as Monterey Car Week.

For 2011 there was special displays for 20 pre-1974 original and barn find cars like an amazing 1966 Ferrari 275 GTB, a Black & White Display and the Lamborghini Aventador. Also highlighted in the display was a 1955 Fiat 8V by Vignale and a 1955 Alfa Romeo 1900 CSS Zagato.

2011 also had the Ferrari F50 supercar reunion at Concorso Italiano. This was the third in a series of reunions of Ferrari supercars to be held at Concorso. The first Ferrari supercar, the 288 GTO, held its 25th anniversary reunion at Concorso in 2009. The GTO owners set a world record for the largest gathering of 288 GTOs in one location. In 2010 it was the F40 reunion. Unfortunately only three cars were in attendance, although one was the ultra-rare Ferrari F50 GT.

Other features of this year’s Concorso Italiano included the 40th anniversary of the De Tomaso Pantera. The 2011 Concorso Italiano also celebrated the 45th anniversary of the Maserati Ghibli and Maserati Bora.

Best of Show went to the 1953 Fiat Stanguellini Berlinetta of Pete Vasquez.
