2003 Dome NSX

To make the NSX competitive in Japan’s SuperGT series, a specially built model was sold which featured a Dome chassis and Mugen engine. The raced from 2003 until 2009 when SuperGT banned mid-engine cars.

Unlike the production car, the 2003 NSX used a Honda C30A engine mounted longitudinally in the chassis. This was turbocharged to produce the regulation 500 bhp.

The car was used by multiple private teams including Autobacs Racing Team Aguri, Dome Racing, Nakajima Racing, Real Racinga and Team Kunimitsu.

The NSX’s final event was at the Twin Ring Motegi on November 7-8, 2009. It was replaced by the 2010 Honda HSV-10 GT.
