2002 Doran-Lista Dallara Judd
Doran Enterprises has been racing in the professional sports car series since 1993. During this time, the company has racked up over 15 wins using thier own Doran JE-1, the Ferrari 333SP and the new Dollara-Judd racecar.
The new car’s chassis is built by Dollara of Italy who have extensive experience developing complete indy-cars.
Calling it ‘the strongest package I’ve ever had for the Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona,’ team manager Kevin Doran announced that Mauro Baldi, Fredy Lienhard Sr., Max Papis and Didier Theys were the drivers of the Dallara Judd #27 Racing Prototype running in the 2002 24 Hours at Daytona.
Insiders knew that any car Doran put on the track was a threat. He had three overall victories there as a team manager: 1998 in a Ferrari with Baldi, Theys, Arie Luyendyk and Gianpiero Moretti, and 1986 and 1987 with Derek Bell, Al Unser Jr. and the late Al Holbert in a Porsche 962.
The 2002 24 Hours of Daytona ended with team Doran taking thier fifth overall vicotory from Daytona. The Dollara-Judd racercar managed to outrun the Intersport’s Judd powered Lola which suffered from a broken half-shaft 20 hours in. After 24 hours of grueling racing the Judd engine survived and each driver was happy to receive thier complementary rolex.
