2002 Brabus SL R 230
BRABUS offers the largest engine tuning selection for Mercedes automobiles in the world. At the time delivery starts, there will be two increased-displacement engines for the new SL 500, the BRABUS 5.8 and the BRABUS 6.1.
The displacement increase to 6,034 ccm is the result of a longer-stroke custom crankshaft milled from one piece, and enlarged cylinder bore. In addition the compression ratio increases to 11.0:1 due to the use of custom BRABUS pistons.
To add additional sporty highlights to the elegant lines of the new Mercedes SL series the BRABUS designers have developing a striking aerodynamics kit. The BRABUS front spoiler, available with two or four auxiliary lights, minimizes lift on the front axle. The BRABUS sidesills feature integrated entry lights, activated with the remote control or the door handle. The new rear apron contains custom-tailored cutouts for the BRABUS sport exhaust.
The new BRABUS fully stainless-steel sport exhaust system with its striking looks is also available without engine tuning, and gives the V8 an even more exciting engine sound.
