2001 AC Schnitzer S3 Sport

Specially matched suspension components form the heart of the developments in this sports tuning M3. To suit his personal taste, the M3 owner can choose between the sports-comfort AC Schnitzer sports suspension or a racing suspension set-up.

Faster and more precise gear selection increases the adrenaline rush and bring a perceptible improvement in vehicle acceleration. AC Schnitzer will be transfers thoroughbred racing technology to the BMW M3 in the form of the AC Schnitzer Short Shift kit.

Optimum driving behaviour, excellent acceleration and the sound to match are undoubtedly amongst the most important attributes of a thoroughbred sports car. For this reason the AC Schnitzer engineers are now working on a sports silencer made of V2A special steel with two chromed tailpipes to give the M3 an even more striking sound and optimise gas flow and hence throttle response even further.

Superb balance and individual appearance were part of the design specifications. The result is an optimised aerodynamic styling kit in various stages, which individually or in combination enable the customer to increase downforce on the front axle at high speeds. The basic element is the carbon fibre front spoiler which attaches to the front skirt. In stage 2, extra front flippers can be fitted, attaching to the front skirt with aluminium struts.

At the rear, a rear roof spoiler and our own design multipiece racing rear wing are fitted. The AC Schnitzer rear wing has its origins in motorsport and has already been extensively tested in the pre-series study, the AC Schnitzer S3 A.R.T. The high impact visual reference to its origins is the complex design in conjunction with the aluminium feet. The finale is the AC Schnitzer rear diffusor with carbon fibre wing profile which integrates harmoniously with the AC Schnitzer sports silencer and impressively reinforces the overall aesthetic impression of the rear – which will undoubtedly be the usual view!

As well as the external specialities, an extensive interior trim range has been developed which amply emphasises to the driver the thoroughbred nature of his sports car. Only the highest quality materials are used here which have their roots in motorsport. Foot rests, pedals, handbrake handle or gear knob made from aluminium, and floor mats contribute as much to the motorsport atmosphere in the cockpit as the AC Schnitzer carbon fibre interior trim available in various styles. Last but not least, the AC Schnitzer full leather trim available on request in various colours and designs completes the interior range.
