1987 Buick GNX
IN 1986 Buick partnered with McLaren Performance Technologies/ASC to produce a tupercharged version of the Grand National. With a Garrett T-3 turbocharger, more than 300 bhp was realized.
Along with the package came a larger ceramic coated intercooler, high-low exhuast system, and a Turbo Hydramatic 200-R transmission. Suspension changes included a torque arm and Panhard bar for the rear axle as well as 16-inch alloy wheels all around.
Visually the GNX got the blacked out front grill of the Grand National and all the cars were sold in gloss black. An additional vent was placed on on the front fenders which is an identifying feature of the GNXs.
A limited production of only 547 cars were made and each was labeled with a plaque on the dashboard.

1987 Buick Regal GNX – sold for €51,210
Aside from its extreme rarity, this GNX is a very special example that has never been road-registered and shows just 233 miles from new. As offered, it remains in completely original and untouched, “time warp” condition, down to the factory-original audio system. Recently undergone a light recommissioning, being a delivery mileage car, the new owner will need to have the car checked before testing the GNX’s full performance and top speeds. On display since new at the Auto & Technik Museum in Sinseim, Germany, this GNX remains a great example of one of the fastest and most legendary American performance icons of the 1980s.
