1969→1969 Puma GT4R
The Puma GT-4R is one of the most exclusive cars manufactured in Brazil. The origin of this car comes from the idea of the magazine “Quatro Rodas” (which means “four wheels”), which gave the name, to present three of its readers with a sports specially produced for them and the logical choice was the brand Puma.
The project began in 1969: during the first half of the readers could follow the progress of the project by that magazine.
The platform, like the Puma GT, was the same as the Volkswagen Karmann Ghia and the style had reference mainly in cars manufactured in the United States and Italy.
In July of 1969, issues of the journal began to include coupons to compete for the car and in October were met the lucky ones.
The engine used was the “new” 1600 air-cooled (the Puma GT was 1500) with carb Solex 32/34 and P2 camshaft. The next idea was the adoption of an engine option for 1800, but 1600 was chosen for greater reliability.
A fourth car was later sold and badged as only “GT”, thus ending the production of 4 units.
Today is known the location of all, only the last of them lack the chassis.
