1958 Alfa Romeo 2000 Coupé Vignale
The new Series 201 platform was offered from the Alfa Romeo in either Sprint, Berlina or Spider configuration, but some chassis were sent to specialist design houses for distinct treatment. Most of these went to Viganle who produced a Coupé with a very open cockpit and slender posts.
Around 50 cars were built with Viganle coachwork and each was different in detail. One of the more decorated cars was AR102.02.0019 built for the Turin Motor Show. It used a two-tone paint scheme and had an accent dash running down the side of the body. This car is decribed as the prototype after which 50 other copies were manufactured.
