1956 Pontiac Star Chief Convertible – sold for $81,000. With over 40 factory options in place and only 15,512 miles on the odometer, it is likely impossible that this fabulous 1956 Star Chief convertible will ever be surpassed for sheer originality and desirability. Under the chrome-stripped hood, Pontiac’s 316/227 HP 4-barrel V-8 is linked to a “Strato-Flight” Hydra-matic transmission, with power steering and brakes, power windows and antenna, 6-way power seat and “electric eye” dimmer contributing to ease of operation. An especially neat and particularly rare detail is the ivory used in the steering wheel and switchgear. Along with its dashing Bolero Red and White paint, this incredibly rare Star Chief sports a full Continental kit, chromed skirts, chromed spot and wire hub caps.
