1952 Nardi Panhard “Nardyna”
In a tiny village of 100 houses in the province of Luxembourg, Belgium, lives a man grinning from ear to ear. After 15 years of dreaming about a little car, the searching and hunting and yearning is over. In 1998, Iwan D. spotted a photograph of a special-bodied Panhard in a book on European sports cars. It was a car that totally captivated his imagination. The car was an early 1950s one-off Nardi with stylish aluminum coachwork by Pietro Frua and a zippy Panhard power maker. This was the car for Iwan, but there was just one small problem. No one in his tiny village knew anything at all about Panhard, or Frua, or Nardi, or this very special car.
So Iwan did what the rest of us would have. He asked around, daydreamed, agonized, and looked at the photo in his book…until his retinas burned a hole in the page! Frustration led to disappointment, which gave way to the realization that he might never find it. However, Iwan never gave up.
