1909 Morgan Runabout

In 1909 H. F.S Morgan built his first car which was this three-wheeled Morgan. It was powered by a front-mounted Peugeot engine that produced 7 bhp. This car would set the trend for further cars that used technology resembling motocycles in three-wheel cars.

Later runabouts featured larger bodies and the 8 hp JAP engine. By 1912 Morgan was making The Fastest 3-wheeler in the World.”

The very first prototype built by Morgan was replicated by enthusiast Chris Booth who finished the project in time for the company’s centenary. It debuted at the 2009 Geneva Motor Show.
